Re: “Gov. Greg Abbott names 3 judges to controversial new Texas appeals court”, expressnews.com, June 12:

The Legislature was right to create a new state court to hear civil appeals involving statewide issues. We should expect the new court to increase consistency at the appellate level, helping to create a more efficient and effective means of resolving complex legal disputes.

Lawmakers were also on target in creating lower courts dedicated to business litigation, providing Texas with a state court system capable of addressing major business-to-business disputes.

Such courts could help deliver faster resolution to lawsuits with fewer litigation costs, which is good for Texas employers and jobs. At the same time, all Texans will continue to have access to state courts for legitimate cases.

This development is undoubtedly good news for Texas.
